Premier Credit Bureau Ltd., a Uk-based credit bureau, is reportedly awaiting the go ahead from Jamaica’s Parliament before rolling out its credit bureau offering here in Jamaica. Over the past eight months, they have reportedly been working closely with the Bank of Jamaica (BOJ), the Government, consumer groups, lenders, and all interested parties to ensure that the relevant legislation that’s needed to establish a credit bureau here, actually gets drafted, passed and enacted. The Bill is reportedly with a select committee at this time.
Once the Bill is enacted, Premier Credit hopes to apply for a credit bureau license immediately, and roll out their operations soon after that.
Ultimately, Premier Credit Ltd. intends to provide 24-hour access to credit history, credit risk management solutions as well as a range of consumer and commercial information solutions that handle anti-money laundering, fraud prevention and identity management.
