			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>The St. Thomas Co-operative Credit Union Ltd. invites applications from suitably qualified persons to fill the post of Delinquency Officer (6 months contract).</p>
<p>Reporting to the Loans Manager, the successful candidate will be required to play a major role in reducing delinquency to the acceptable level and improve the loan portfolio quality by initiating and applying effective collections and debt management strategies.</p>
<p>The successful candidate MUST possess the following:</p>
<ul>
<li>A Bachelors Degree in business administration, finance or the equivalent</li>
<li>Team player with excellent interpersonal skills and effective negotiation skills</li>
<li>Ability to make sound judgment in reviewing accounts</li>
<li>Good understanding of members&#8217; needs and the collection process to determine the member&#8217;s financial obligations</li>
<li>Have a sound knowledge in legal processes</li>
<li>Highly developed cognitive and communication skills</li>
<li>Results oriented</li>
<li>At least three years working experience in a similar position</li>
</ul>

			<content:encoded><![CDATA[<p>Jamaica National Building Society has just launched a new loan (called the Storm Loan) for property owners who want to storm-proof their homes. This new loan product falls within the home-improvement loan category, and will be made available to members and non-members once there is proof that the improvement being done will assist in preparations for a hurricane. The loan will be priced at 14.49 per cent for a maximum of 30 years, and will take approximately six weeks to process the loan.</p>
<p>Documentary requirements include proof of ownership of the property, proof of income, identification, and a detailed estimate of work to be done or item to be bought, including the labour cost. The loan also has an insurance component that&#8217;s based on the replacement cost of the property, which is included in the monthly payment for peril insurance.</p>

(S)He will be required to provide excellent customer service at all times within the established standards and procedures of the company, and keep tight control to achieve a consistent low loan delinquency rate.</p>
<p>Minimum qualifications and work experience:</p>
<ul>
<li>Diploma in Business Administration/Marketing/Finance/Accounting or related discipline</li>
<li>A minimum of two years related work experience</li>
<li>Have in-depth knowledge of local communities, particularly in the assigned area</li>
<li>Personal commitment to serving the economic needs of low-income entrepreneurs</li>
<li>A good understanding and strong commitment to the entrepreneurial vision</li>
<li>Own a reliable motor vehicle</li>
