PanCaribbean (a member of the Sagicor Group) is looking for the ideal candidate to fill the position of Credit Risk Analyst.

Core functions of the position:

• Conduct thorough evaluation of credit quality of sovereign, corporate and retail portfolios using appropriate decision support tools and techniques;
• Monitor delinquency rates within the credit portfolio and identify potential weaknesses in risk assessments;
• Conduct periodic assessment of credit scoring models in relation to delinquency rates to ensure outputs in keeping with acceptable delinquency levels;
• Implement and maintain programs, policies and procedures to focus on managing and maintaining loan and investment quality, compliance with internal and regulatory policies and guidelines, identification and management of problem loans and investments;
• Evaluate the Group’s assets and liabilities to determine the credit risk exposure and quantify the impact on capital and the Group’s portfolio;
• Conduct periodic reviews of and initiate changes to credit risk policies

What are we (PanCaribbean) looking for?

• Strong analytical and data mining skills
• Ability to develop, use and validate scoring models
• Working knowledge of the Jamaican financial, regulatory and legal environment
• Knowledge of credit risk management methodologies
• Ability to identify significant credit risks and associated mitigating factors
• Ability to handle high volume workflow situations

Prerequisites
At a mininum, the preferred candidate must have:

• Masters degree in Risk Management, Economics, Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related professional qualification
• CFA or FRM designation while not a requirement would be an asset
• Proficiency in the use of Microsoft Excel is essential
• Prior experience in the financial services industry would be a distinct advantage
